Building HeartTouch Together
HeartTouch Wellbeing CIC came into being because this work needed a home of its own.
I originally hoped that an existing organisation might provide the structure through which I could offer workshops, support people and continue developing the work. When that did not happen, it gradually became clear that if the vision was to grow, I would need to help create that home myself.
The organisation is not an end in itself. It is a vessel through which HeartTouch can develop, become accessible to more people and contribute to the way wellbeing is understood and supported.
HeartTouch has never been something I imagined building alone. Its future depends on people who believe that embodied mindfulness and compassionate human connection have something valuable to contribute to mental health, community wellbeing, workplaces and everyday life.
HeartTouch will grow through the participation of many people, each contributing in their own way.
Ways to Get Involved
There are many ways to become part of this work. Some people may have time, professional experience or useful connections to offer. Others may attend a programme, introduce someone who could benefit, share our work or help make a particular project possible.
Experience the Work
Attend a workshop, course, group or community event and experience HeartTouch for yourself. Participation helps the work remain grounded in real human experience and contributes to its continuing development.
Share the Work
You can help by telling someone who may benefit, sharing our work through social media or introducing HeartTouch within your own community or professional networks.
A personal recommendation can make it easier for someone to discover support at a time when they may not know where to turn.
Contribute Your Skills
As HeartTouch grows, we hope to welcome people with a wide range of skills, experience and perspectives.
This might include support with governance, administration, marketing, communications, fundraising, design, technology, research, event organisation, community development or professional networking.
People may contribute occasionally, support a particular project or become more closely involved in the continuing development of the organisation.
Help Guide the Organisation
HeartTouch Wellbeing CIC will need thoughtful and committed people to help guide its future development.
This may include joining the board as a director, contributing specialist knowledge or helping the organisation build strong relationships with the communities and sectors it hopes to serve.
Introduce HeartTouch to Your Organisation
You may be able to introduce HeartTouch to an employer, charity, healthcare service, educational organisation, community group or professional network.
An introduction can begin a conversation about a workshop, a sponsored programme, staff wellbeing, community support, training or another form of collaboration.
Partner With Us
We welcome conversations with organisations that share our interest in practical, compassionate and embodied approaches to wellbeing.
Partnerships may involve hosting programmes, reaching particular communities, developing new areas of work, contributing professional expertise or exploring how HeartTouch might complement existing services.
Accessibility & Sustainability
HeartTouch Wellbeing CIC believes that everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from embodied approaches to wellbeing, regardless of their financial circumstances.
As a Community Interest Company, we are committed to developing a resilient and sustainable organisation that can continue serving individuals and communities over the long term.
We believe accessibility and sustainability can work together. By combining participant contributions with scholarships, sponsored programmes, partnerships, organisational income and grant funding, we aim to make our work accessible while supporting its long-term development.
Scholarships
As HeartTouch develops, we hope to establish a scholarship programme that enables people on lower incomes or experiencing financial hardship to participate in our classes, workshops and programmes.
Where appropriate, participants may be invited to contribute at a level that reflects their individual circumstances. We believe this approach can help make the work accessible while recognising the value of learning, participation and personal commitment.
Sponsored Programmes
Some individuals, communities and organisations may benefit most from programmes that are fully sponsored and offered free of charge to participants.
We hope to work with charities, healthcare services, community organisations, businesses, philanthropic supporters and grant-making bodies to make these programmes possible where they are most needed.
This may include mental health and recovery programmes, community wellbeing initiatives, workplace wellbeing, educational events, healthy ageing programmes and other projects that strengthen the health and resilience of individuals and communities.
Supporting the Organisation
Financial support does more than provide places on individual programmes. It also helps create the organisational foundations needed for the work to grow.
This may include developing new programmes, building partnerships, training facilitators, producing accessible resources, evaluating our work and strengthening the systems needed to serve communities responsibly.
Supporting the organisation helps turn a promising piece of work into something resilient, collaborative and capable of creating a wider long-term impact.
Building a Resilient Organisation
HeartTouch Wellbeing CIC seeks to develop a diverse and resilient funding model rather than relying on a single source of income.
Participant contributions, earned income, scholarships, sponsorship, partnerships and grant funding each have an important role to play. Together they help create an organisation that is both financially sustainable and able to respond flexibly to the changing needs of the communities it serves.
Over time, we also hope to develop services that generate income while furthering our community purpose. Any surplus can then be reinvested in expanding access, developing new programmes and strengthening the organisation for the future.
In this way, accessibility and sustainability become mutually reinforcing, helping HeartTouch continue serving individuals and communities for many years to come.
A Shared Vision
HeartTouch is still at an early stage, but its vision is long term.
We hope to demonstrate that embodied mindfulness and compassionate human connection can make a meaningful contribution to mental health, community wellbeing, workplace wellbeing, long-term health conditions and healthy ageing.
No single person can bring that vision into being. It will emerge through relationships, participation, shared experience and the contribution of people who genuinely want to see this work influence the world.
Whether you participate in a workshop, tell a friend, make an introduction, offer your skills, become a director, sponsor a programme or support the organisation financially, you become part of that continuing development.
Working Together
If this vision resonates with you, we would be glad to hear from you.
You do not need to arrive with a finished proposal or know exactly how you might contribute. A conversation, an idea or an introduction may be the beginning of something valuable.
