HeartTouch: Living Well with Long-Term Health Conditions
Living with a long-term health condition often affects much more than physical health. Persistent symptoms, pain, fatigue and uncertainty can have a profound impact on emotional wellbeing, confidence and everyday life.
HeartTouch offers a practical, embodied mindfulness approach that helps people reconnect with the body's natural capacity for self-regulation, supporting greater resilience, wellbeing and quality of life.
HeartTouch Wellbeing workshop in Italy - the oldest participant was in her 80's.
Through simple embodied mindfulness practices, compassionate human connection and gentle group reflection, participants develop practical skills that help them feel safer, calmer and more grounded.
As they become more emotionally resilient, many find themselves better able to respond to stress, relate more compassionately to their condition and engage more fully with everyday life.
The programme is designed to complement existing medical care rather than replace it. It supports people in working alongside their healthcare professionals while developing simple practices that support greater wellbeing in everyday life. HeartTouch may also provide valuable support during periods of medical treatment, including cancer treatment.
While it does not treat the underlying condition itself, it offers practical ways of reducing fear and stress while supporting a deeper sense of safety, calm and grounding. The aim is not to promise particular health outcomes, but to support each person's wellbeing and quality of life alongside conventional medical care.
